Battery in the car is pretty old. I went to start up the car, and click, nothing. Tried more times and still nothing

Went to buy a brand new battery, hooked it up, and click, a few clicks later, the car would turn and shut off, more clicks again, eventually it turned again, and i had to give it gas for it to fully turn on.

Turned off car, and went to leave work, and click

It's obvious it's something else

If someone could help, i would greatly appreciate it
I would like to go home tonite

Checked your terminals? I had the same problem this morning. Got some new ones and it worked like a charm.

Is the Battery the correct size? Any corrosion up around the terminals?

So was it the terminals? Mine has been doing that too. I changed the terminals and it still does it. But once the car gets warm. It runs fine, until it sits for around 8hrs.

did u try tappin ur starter? mine used to do that a lil while back wen i first bought it. i had to tap the starter a few times n then it would start. I took the starter out cleaned it up a bit and it works fine now haven't clicked since.
