Please Help Engine sounding very choppy and heavy smoke
i have a 92 sc400 it has about 240,000 miles on it and just now when i went out to my car to start it up it started up very weak and sounded sort of like a tractor very low exhaust note and choppy followed by a very strong fuel smell coming form the exhaust..i let it idle for about 5 mins and then i drove it down to street to the front of my neighborhood and then the engine started smoking (smelled sort of like oil burning) as well as in the car..after i shut the car off for a few mins the smoke was gone and no signs of leaks under the car but the exhaust on the passenger side close to the engine is where the smoke is coming from and it looks like something is leaking on the that part of the exhaust is causing it to smoke.. also found out it only starts smoking when i give it gas but while in idle theres no smoking problem but the exhaust still sounds very choppy
Thanks again and please help if you can

Merged your 2 threads, its easier to help when we can see everything in one place.
you could have a bad coilpack that went out and now a bunch of gas is getting burnt up in the exhaust.
check coilpacks and rotors, its one of the more common problems on a sc400 when people describe it as running rough. that usually means you aren't firing on all 8.
