Auto SC300...what are my turbo/trans options?
Sicne my SC 300 is an auto I was wondering what would be the most cost effective and efficient way to go about getting some boost. Would it be best to find a front clip and work from there? To get a 1jzgte or 2jzgte engine and trans out of the car? or to just turbo the GE? Kepping in mind i don't want to make 650+ hp, 400 or so would be decent enough. My budget would allow 5-6k as of right now and i plan to do most of the work myself. Thanks for your input, and yes i have thoroughly looked through other threads.

Great, now what about the transmission? I'm not sure if I wanna stick with the auto as from what i hear they aren't as robust under higher boost applications. BTW i wanted to make 400 RWP, but all in good time. So would it be possible to do the toyomoto kit and eventually do a 6 spd conversion with the GE motor? I'm a poor college student right now so as money allows i will upgrade, so there is no rush to rip everything apart in search of speed.

Toyomoto Stage II
The stage II(also shippable) will give you 400RWHP(around 510hp at the flywheel) if you can kick in the extra $1500(over your 6k budget). Toyomoto does a 6-speed Getrag swap(JZA80) into the IS300 so I am sure they can do the SC300 as well. They claim the Getrag 6 will hold up to 1200hp and there is a Toyota 3 month warranty on the tranny also. Give em a call at 1(305)599-3050.

Well i'm just looking at the cheapest way to piece together or swap in an easy 400 rwp. with a supra swap and bolt ons it would ceratinly be easy, but i'm not clear on the exact costs of this. And as for going for stage II, couldn't i add my own fmic injectors, pump, etc? thanks for your knowledge.

either way it's going to be money. lets not forget about how much they rape you by being in the middle of the ocean.

Agreed, the shipping to this rock is outrageous. Maybe i'll just go to some of the local tuner shops and see what they have to offer. No doubt it will still be very pricey.

pm itsallgood. he usually posts in the gs forum. he has a tricked out supercharged gs400 and he has some contacts with wmr (i think they installed the swift supercharger for him).
i'm pretty sure he did some tranny work(at least the rear end) with the hp he's pushing. if you go to the import car shows at the events arena, his rsp gs is usually displayed.
the amount of tuner shops in hawaii that have experience with lexus cars will be limited though so happy hunting and report your findings! but seeing that the sc300 and supra are comparable, you're probably better off looking for a tuner shop experienced more with supras that lexus cars.

you're welcome to come across to Kona and check out my SC300 with the Supra Twin Turbo engine. The turbos run an easy 18 PSI, amounting to about 450HP (at the engine). Be prepared to drool!
