Replaced the fuild, filter and shift solenoids in my 92 and i'm STILL having shift issues. Any ideas what else can be giving me headaches?

Why would the cable be an issue, i've never had a reason to adjust it. I replace my solenoids and changed my oil because it was clunking into gear then finally shifting like crap all together. Now it shifts a tad better but with hesitation into 1st AND reverse

Ok since i've eliminated the solenoids as a issue, I'll check the cable/ mount. Is it a matter of adjusting or replacing?

These mounts tend to go bad quickly in these as they are way soft and the cable controls line pressure in the trans so adjusting it to up the pressure will help hopefully.

I used toyota tran fluid.
Sad to say tho even after adjustment the prob still remains. Adjusted nuts to the end of the cable with no positive results.
Heres where I adjusted it to. The metal stopper (not in this pic) isnt at all close to the end of the cable. The cable is also still slacked a bit. I'm not familiar with toyota auto trannies but i'm almost certain the slack should've been taken up some.

Hmm i'll give the TPS a try. Along with checking the suggested mount.

Might help, might not.... thread says a lot of people benefited from it.... dunno if it is your issue or not. It may help you track your issue to a bad TPS or IAC however. (which is where I'd put my money on a hunch)
