Please help! Changed slave cyl. black fluid & no pressure
My old slave cylinder was leaking so I got under the car and changed it. Then I replaced the fluid that had leaked out when the slave was off the trans. Then proceeded to pump the clutch to build pressure. The pressure wont build (nothin' leaking) and the fluid in the master cylinder is completely black Can anyone help me?
Sounds like there has to be a clog somewhere if you aren't get fluid out of the slave bleeder nipple. You will need to bleed the slave cylinder since you replaced it with a new one and air definitely got in the lines. I've never seen black fluid personally though.
Do you still have the old one? Install that one, see if you can bleed that one. even if it's leaking, it will rule out a dud replacement.
the fluid is black, because it needs to be replaced.; it's old and contaminated.
