Question how to swap 1998 motor to 1995 sc300

hello every one,
I just bought a 1995 SC300, the motor blow out i need to replace it.
I'm thinking to find a way to convert to 1998.

Is that possible to do that? Also, witch motor should i look for, and do i have to replace the transmission ?

Please help me out!

Are you wanting to stay wih the 300 or go 400? That s the question you need to ask yourself. I would replace with what is in it. Less of a headache. It can be done, but depends on your check book and time. GL

Yeah if you have an SC300 he only "upgrade" swap that makes any sense is a GTE. Otherwise just swap a same year stock motor.

1998 SC300 uses the same transmission. Only 1998 SC400 got an updated 5 speed automatic.

For your information it is more difficult to swap in a USDM 2JZ-GE VVT-i engine than a JDM 2JZ-GTE VVT-i engine. Reason being the fuel tank (OBD-II sensors & returnless system) and the Immobilizer chip found inside the computer.

are you talking about the shifter? swappable from a newer car. not the same as the transmission.

You can swap the newer style shifter on your 95 SC.

Just search "gated shifter install" and there are plenty of infos on that swap.
