Where is the crank shaft position sensor? Can't find a DIY on the forums, please anything will help.

no really im almost sure its under the intake manifold... but dont quote me on that... maybe with that peice of info u can get closer to finding out what u need to know

edit: i know for sure im wrong now... iirc its near the bottom crank pulley

It's on the oil pump when you stand in front of the car looking at the engine it's on the driver side , right behind the crank pulley.
it being held one the oil pump with 10mm bolt.

I found the crank shaft position sensor on my 95 LS 400 and replaced it after the check engine light came on and the auto parts store read the code for me, telling me that the crank shaft position sensor is bad.
After replacing the sensor, I had the check engine light reset, but after a short while of driving the check engine light is back on and giving the same error message - crank shaft position sensor is bad.
What else might be wrong that I should look at fixing?

check the wiring for it follow it back where it goes into the harness look for cuts of tears. also check the connector for cracks, sometimes if the connector is cracked the connection is bad or will loosen up after a bit of driving.

So I bought a crankshaft position sensor for “1992-2000” sc400 **** doesn’t fit I’m assuming it’s on the other side and all I gotta tell you is it’s a pain especially in Minnesota so my car doesn’t run so I’m over here standing on ice while working on this **** and so far I pulled the hoses everything to be honest belt, etc I fount out that I got the wrong sensor or I’m not even sure cause I’m confused on which side is crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensor so the most I did was replace cap distributor and rotor and then I move on to the right side (driver side) the wire harness is tight and there’s this bolt under everything and I’m over here bending my back like I’m getting the most immaculate back shots tryna unscrew this 10mm next thing you know my 10 was like **** you and drops itself inside the engine and I’m like **** not even a magnet could pull it out through that gap so I grab a skinner longer 10 cause I have to take off this plastic protective **** that covers half the cap disturbutor guess what it’s dark asf outside my flashlights are like aye man you’re on your own and Im pretty much blind as a bat tryna memory muscle this **** and I’m like thinking it would be so easy if I could pull the engine and word of advice if your dropping your belt, pulling your hoses just know your hands has to be on surgeon mode next thing you know in dropping small *** bolts thanking the lord it dropped through the big *** gap between the can and belt area, all in all it’s a pain and like somebody just has to make a guide to 1uz engine cause it’s the biggest hassle to work on the engine if it’s not pulled expect to like struggle badly but I’m assuming left side (passenger) is camshaft and then right side (driver side) is crank
if not that I got the wrong ****ing part and word of advice don’t buy the sensors that one piece make sure it’s the whole wire if not you ****ed
