Default Walbro on a SC400

My SC400 came with a Walbro courtesy of the previous owner. I just wanted to be sure that this car doesn't have a problem with FPR overrun like some cars do. If there's a chance I've got jacked fuel pressure at idle I'll switch it back to a stock pump since I don't have any mods that require extra fuel.

You shouldnt have a problem unless you have a faulty FPR. My only advice would be to make sure you have a 12v mod done to prevent any issues in the future.

Imo that would cause the over run issue as the voltage is lower at idle and low rpm so the pump is not working full on and with the mod that would be running at 100% even at idle lower rpm where that is how the over run issue comes about.

Negative. Your OEM FPR prevents that. IIRC the 400 is the same as the 300 and will not run or idle properly with the Walbro unit in place the FP ECU not bypassed, mine didnt even start. Not to mention, our cars (except the 99 VVTi SC300 iirc) use a return fuel system.

Both the Walbro and the TT Supra Denso units have been used over and over again on stock SC's both 300 and 400 with the 12v mod, and ZERO issues. Your over thinking the flow rate of the pump, but not thinking about what your stock FPR or fuel system was designed to do. Now if you were using an AFPR and didnt have it set properly, then yes, your going to have some issues. But the stock FPR handles it just fine.

you think a walbro is loud ...try a A1000 aeromotive pump lol , but back on topic you shouldnt have an issue with that pump , but do make sure that your FPR is keeping the right fuel pressure , i found 3 cars so far that had an issue with it including mine

cheers

Its all relative really the Walbro's are definately noticeably louder than stock and that whine is pretty annoying... I tolerate it because I need the extra flow and this is what I went with, but I could see how it would be unnaceptable to people wanting a quiet Lexus-like ride. Unless the OP really needs the extra fuel for some reason, personally I would stick with a stock pump.

I've had mine in since I've owned the car. It is really loud. I did the 12v mod at the same time, so I can't say if it effected the car or not.
