My point.
2000 for a whole GTE engine that can produce 400hp on JDM twins... possibly more.
500 for cams and USDM turbos which can hold more boost but by then are out of the efficiency range.

Going FULL USDM is wasteful, OBD-I USDM ECU is know to have a lean spot issue and OBD-II ECU are expensive. USDM ECU use MAF sensor resulting in rich condition with vent to the atmosphere BOV.

Power gains are marginal and the cost for a FULL USDM conversion is in the ballpark of 700-1000. In layman's terms it's adding an extra third to the swap cost for maybe 50-70 HP are PEAK that is dangerous conditions power.

Do the JDM swap and when you are ready to upgrade use that money toward good aftermarket products that far eclipse the factory stuff.

97 SC 300...you probably hit up TEE LEX. He started with a 2JZGTE (JDM) pm him and see what's he's using. I think he made like a 1000 plus after he put in work. Look him up and you'll see his BEAST...Red Devil, good luck!

You will be fine as others have stated. I ran this way a few years ago.

JDM 2JZGTE > USDM Cams > USDM Turbos > USDM 550cc injectors W/resistor box. and a SAFC and never had an issue.

not sure if this will help but "lexusdog" posted this in the GS section..

I am very happy with the us spec twin turbos. I do not have anything to compare to since I have never used the jdm twins. I run about 18-19 psi. If you are running or doing a jdm setup with us spec twins you will have to run 550cc injectors and the injector resistor pack so the car doesn't run to lean, or just run lower boost and monitor your A/F ratio with a wideband. My car has run numerous low 12 second runs. The us spec twins setup in sequential mode really work very well. Keep in mind the SC is a bit more aerodynamic compared to the GS.

I had a MKIV supra with a small single on it, and I really prefer the way the stock twins work. With an auto, a good working sequential twin setup will be quicker. Auto+single+stock stall=very slow low end
.

Hope this helps

You guys are right. I ended up buying some 550cc injectors and resistor pack. I'm not into doing large build threads, but I took a crap-load of pics of the swap process from when the engine arrived to where I am now. I'll be taking pics of everything and soon I will post a thread with pics for you fellas to enjoy. Thanks for the help.

Hey 97-sc300 can you post a link to the small "build thread" about this whole topic?!

Which ecu did you use?

He is talking about using the JDM ecu cause he listed SAFC with the 550c injectors.
there is not much gain to go with the US ecu and most dont want to install a maf, so just install the US cams and turbo's and 550cc injectors, and to make up for the larger injectors install a safc on the JDM ecu or any piggyback.
