Default 1UZ/2UZ hybrid ???

A friend is looking at a full on twin turbo engine conversion. A 1UZ sounds strong, but the extra capacity of the 2UZ would be good.

Can anyone tell me about putting 2UZ rods and cranks into a 1UZ block? I've heard this has been done by serious drag racers. Is it worth the hassle? Does anyone have any experience with this sorta job? And what would be involved?

Yes he knows it will be expensive, but wants to get serious power in a street car.

Thanks
Ben

Journals on the 2UZ are too big to try to retrofit the crank.

Might as well use the whole thing.

Thankd for the info Todd.

I've heard that the 2UZ is designed for better low down torque and not so much all out power. Could a twin turbo setup on a 2UZ match a TT 1UZ?? Would a 2UZ require extra work on the bottom end or any other areas?

Also bear in mind this is going to be a street car, not a drag racer.
