Default Question with EGR delete

Ok So I am following this diagram as a reference for the egr removal but the vacuum Canister is confusing me. On the Diagram there is one line coming from the Canister that can be removed but on the actual canister there is two. What do I do with the other line? What is it for?

It's essentially an air vent for the fuel tank, during the day as the car heats up from the sun the pressure in the gas tank builds since it's an airtight container. It vent out excess pressure.

One you remove the canister youll notice theres a nipple on the bottom of the canister that leads into the wheel well. The ideal thing to do is get a hose to run from that open line and vent it to the hole in the wheel well. If you don't do anything with it you'll get a strong smell of fuel in the cabin

if you want to decrease the smell a little, what i did is get a universal fuel filter from autozone/advanced auto for about $10 and put it in the middle of the line 93MSB said to run.
so basically disconnect the fuel tank vent from the charcoal canistor (the shorter fatter hose) , insert fuel filter, and from other side of filter run a line down to the bottom of where the canister was to the open pipe in the wheel well.
you can skip the filter and just run a straight line but the filter helps keep the smells down a bit. worth the $10.
