Default Just joined the SC club with a 1998 VVTI

Hi All,

Just joined the SC club... I just picked up a 1998 1 Owner 83 K mile SC300 after seeing the condition of the car and the carfax i was pretty much sold. Since it was one owner and always maintained at the dealer with a clean car fax, I paid the dealer premium and snatched it up.

Coming from a history cars of this era I've had a

91 Aristo TT
93 RZ TT RHD supra
95 TT LHD HKS T51 R supra
08 IS-F

Still have my 87 2jz MK3 and now this gem.

Plans already are for BC Coils, install my spare set of CCW's, do the AUX mod for the stereo or install a beatsonic and Joying android head unit.

Further out plans are likely a turbo and swap to CD09 6 spd with E85. No crazy sized turbos just 61-67MM Not aiming for the moon just to make it fun

This will call for Pistons and rings due to the weakness of the VVTI engines

^^ And beefier rods since like the pistons and rings those are also weaker in 1998+ VVT-i 2JZ-GE's.

Congrats! That's an immaculate ride you just picked up! And those are some awesome previous cars.

Yeah, sorry that's what i meant piston and rods lol was late when I posted.

I'm aiming to replicate Lawrence's build but not so extreme.

Super clean SC, good luck with the build. You can start a thread to document your progress on this forum.

Basically, I'm going to follow Lawrence 9 second build. My goals are a WHOLE lot more modest.

In fact, I'm pleading with him to take this build on, because I've never seen anyone make a clean build like him. using the stock airbox deep into 9's lol...

Black Friday has been a dangerous day. Pockets are extra light this weekend. BC coil overs already on the way, CCW 505A's off my old MK4 are getting refinished for this car. and a clear bra are the initial mods. Looking to reclaim my mk4 auto TT LSD from my friend and do the AUX in stereo modification.

Basically, I'm going to beg and do everything in my power to try to get Lawrence on board for one more build.I normally do everything myself except welding but his work and fab is just godly.

Ya Lawrence's car was impressive. I thought I was out of the JZ Game but after seeing his build, it pulled a Michael Corlene on me.

BC coils are in, CCW's will go on probably at the same time.

Trying to figure out what to do in terms of build and when ;P
