Cool Auto to manual tranny swap

I got a 93 v8 sc400 with the 1uj motor. I was wondering if I could do a 5-speed swap on it while still keeping that 1UJ in it. I was told by someone that they make a kit for it, but he also said I'd want a 1UZ instead of the 1UJ...I'd rather keep mine if I could...save some cash--especially if there actually 'is' a kit for it.

Also, no, I have no idea what the kit is or what it entails. That's why I'm asking, in case anyone else knows about it. Links would be much appreciated as well as advice and instructions I love my sc and I want it to be a 5-speed (seeing as I really can't find a manual 300 for sale) and I'm also doing it out of principle because I want a stickshift and a buddy of mine keeps trying to get me to buy a friggin' mustang. :P lol I have all the tools necessary and the mech aptitude. Just need a walkthrough

what the hell is a 1UJ?

I just went through the chronology of the Toyota motor codes and the "UJ" doesn't exist.

Redphoenix has done a w58 swap on here with detailed pricing and parts list. Very good write up. Just search in this section.

Must be referring to the JDM 1UJ-FE...I'm assuming not the VVT-I version.

I agree I'm assuming he means the UZ.

lmao yes, indeed the UZ, typo on my part...wow lol that's great how my typo sparked the best SC mock I've seen all month--that pic is SO my wallpaper now, PREESH! but yeah, I dunno what I was thinking...what I MEANT was I 'have' a 1uz and someone said I'd want a 1jz or 2jz for the swap and the reason I wanted to keep mine was because I havent seen any v8 5 speed sc400's before and though it'd be pretty cool--and I was right since apparently they make a kit for it lol. The only question I have left would be about that swap and whether or not I'd need a driveshaft along with all the other stuff I'll need. Depending on which writeup I read, I either need one or I don't....is the driveshaft for the sc400 compatible for that swap?
