1996sc300

Hey guys,

My brother just picked up a 1992 SC300 from my buddy. The car is very nice and kept up very well.

Its has 115,000 miles and is an automatic.

The problem is the idle on the car is very strange. The car would randomly die out on start up. We would drive the car normally for 10 days. Start up fine, drives awesome but then sometimes when we start up the car it would crank , start and then it would just die right away. The only way to get it to idle is if i give it gas to keep it up and it catches it self.

One time I had to start it about 10 times before it would idle. The car has a full tune up including plugs,wires,gaskets,belts so it is running great.

The only problem is the start up- idle. I bought it to lexus and the auto mechanic and I could not get it to die so they could not help

So my questions is what could it be?

I cleaned the MAF already, new air filter, clean out the throttle body. Im lost.
