Default 2JZ intercooler on a 1JZ

I just had a quick questions about greddy intercoolers. Will the pipes off a greddy intercooler for a 2jz line up for a 1jz?

I am not sure about this, but more than likely they are very close. The only problems I would forsee are the initial inlet and out pipes might have to be SLIGHTLY modified, if at all. All the others and the FMIC itself should be fine. Definately nothing to worry about if you have the resources to put a 1jz in an SC300.

well I got my trust 4 row intercooler on my car from GTR, so I know most of the intercooler would fit as long as you can make a piping right.

There was a article that they tested the 1JZ intercooler and the 2JZ and they recommended getting a 1JZ cuz it flowed better.

I was thinking the cores would be the same. The only difference would be some brackets and the piping(maybe)

The resources to put a 1jz in an SC300? If you remeber a few months ago i asked many questions of the 1jz vs 2jz swaps, and i decided ont eh 1jz which i am not swapping in.

The 1jzgte is actually more direct than the 2jzgte as far as swapping, but not by much. Im still doing my swap...my limited resource is time....

Anyway pertaining to this post...are you talking the stock soarer 2.5GT-T intercooler vs MK4 supra? they are almost identicle. as far as aftermarket intercoolers the flow depends on the core used and its size, not so much which engine its attached too.

Im running a Custom sized Spearco core (Stacked plate) and custom piping Which is very similar to the MK4 TT but with some differences.

Have i helped?

Why are you not doing the swap now.
I just wanted to know if the piping would match up between the two engines.

Hey OddBall.. have you completed the 1jz-gte engine swap on your Lexus SC300 1993? I'm currently driving a 1992 U.S. Lexus Sc300, and waiting for my 1jz-gte vvt-i from Canada. The engine was off of the Japan Chaser. Is your engine the vvt-i as well? Did you purchase he complete clip, or was it just the engine, tranny, ecu, harness? That's what I purchased. I couldn't find a front clip. Anyhow, how difficult is this conversion? I'm a little stressed about the analog speedo meter from my sc300, since the Chaser vvt-i 98 had the digital speedo. How do we correct that? Can you tell me what's necessary to buy to complete this conversion successfully?

thanks Odd..
