1jz swap temp fix doesn't seem to work for me
i've done what the stickied thread suggested. ground the brown/black wire to chassis and needle should show temp properly on cluster.
however it is not working. i checked to make sure the ground was good with a multimeter and the same issue....
anyone have other ideas?

well i haven't tried the 330 ohm resistor method yet. when i search for it. i get stuff not related to my quiry...
my check engine light doesn't come on either, yet i can still start the motor up. i need to recheck my wires... i didnt extend the engine harness. so i know its not there. it must a ground that came loose in the body plugs to engine harness.

You need to do the check engine light method to get it to work. Search for "1jzgte temp" or something along those lines. There are multiple threads about it. It's a yellow/green wire behind the cluster

I fixed mine for good a couple months ago. I of course tried the easier method of grounding the wire that everyone says to ground. It didnt do a damn thing. I went to radioshack got a 330ohm resistor, found the yellow/green stripped wire thats in the center cluster plug and put the resistor in there. My temp gauge now works just like it did when the car was stock.
