HKS vs. APEXi --> SC 300
What's the difference between the HKS Super AFR and the Apexi AFC. Does anyone have the HKS. If you do could you compare it to the APEX for me. I can't make up my mind.

HKS AFR
Bringing up an old post... Does anyone have any experience with the HKS AFR on their sc300? The write up on mvpmotors.com says that the HKS AFR does the same thing the apex S-afc does but better. Any thoughts on this product or is the apex better? Thanks

The only thing that I can see that the safc does better is look better, and it can handle dual maf. other than that the afr has more adjustment points and rsp settings. Although the number of adjustment points that the afc has seems to be sufficient. BTW I have an afr on my, easy to install, and car runs great, but haven`t had time to tune.

I believe if I'm not mistaken the SAFC is more precise in tuneability, it's digital vs analog, and has more set points ( 8 rpm points vs 4 or somethin' like that ). I bought the SAFC after being advised by my tuner at ProTech and I was happy with the choice after reviewing the gains.

the SAFC was on my 300Z and I sold it when I bought the lex to speed up the wheel/tire purchase, since I hadn't done the intake / exhaust or any other performance mod's to the sc400. As for the gains,... here's the dyno on the N/A V6 of that car and I can say, for the dollar,.. no other mod will give you as much. I will say, that as soon as my money gets right,... it will be intake/ exhaust and SAFC, plus maybe a TC and who knows,... maybe even some NAWWWWWSSSS !!!
here's the dyno sheet for the Z,... you can extrapolate from it.

nope,...normally aspirated,...and considering the stock crank hp is 222, intake, exhaust, pulleys and SAFC did a good bit to increase that performance. A stock TT 300Z puts down about 225-230rwhp.
I can't imagine what a V8 would gain
