Default 1JZ cruise control works!!! But...

...looks fugly with a cable strung over the top of my engine. I'm using my car's original CC unit with the cable off of my 1JZ CC unit that came with my engine and so far works with no issues. However, I had to do some reworking on my throttle cable location to get the CC cable to fit, honestly I don't like the way it looks. both my throttle cable and my CC cable can't reach/fit in their brackets so i had to switch them around (Throttle cable sits in AT cable bracket, CC cable fits in it's own spot but not between the two adjustment nuts). Any ideas on a longer CC cable setup and a better working throttle cable? Throttle cable is a Supra TT BTW

Do you have the throttle cable, even if cut, that came with your 1JZ?

I used a supra tt cc unit, I had to modify it a bit of course. I'll take some pics tomorrow

no i got nothing. The only cable that i got was connected to the hacked up cruise control unit, which now resides in my original CC unit right now

I was looking at that, but it looks like it resides in a different location, specifically in the way of the EVAP canister next to the fire wall. Did you put yours there or did you work it into the SC's stock location?

I removed the charcoal canister a while ago so i had room to place it near the stock location it would be on the supra. Its held on by one bolt and a few zipties. I had to trim the bracket down a bit as you can see in the 2nd to last pic i posted. I also had to move the plug coming out of the chassis harness up towards the firewall.

thanks for the pics, that looks better than my setup, but would look better if that cable was longer and tucked back towards the fire wall some more (i've started growing picky XD). Also my CC plug looks different from yours, mine is a single row of 5 or 6 pins so i'll have to source that as well. What kind of throttle cable are you using?

Ohh yeah you have a 97, you might look into a cc unit from a 97-98 supra to see if that could be a match.

The throttle cable I'm not sure about. I bought a wrecked sc that had the swap already done and transplanted it into my 95. So i really have no idea what it's from. I hear a lot people say they use one from one of the camry models

BTW sorry for drawing this off topic but what are the specs on your single turbo? And did you have to do any extra wiring for your the starting issue from a while back?

is it just me or does that cable look alot shorter than its supposeds to be?? Im sure your issues would be fixed by buying a proper length cable...

im not real sure this is 100% accurate but it should be close

the turbo is a garrett full 60-1 w/p-trim turbine aka TO4S

COMPRESSOR:
-Wheel- 60 Trim - 59.0 Inducer / 76.2 Major
-Housing- 100 Inlet / 60 Outlet - 0.70 A/R
TURBINE:
-Wheel- 76 Trim - 74.2 Major / 64.7 Exducer
-Housing- T04 inlet / 65.75 outlet - 0.70 divided

I had a hell of a time getting it running but it turned out the 440cc injectors i had bought were siezed closed. IIRC that black wire we cut was the only thing keeping it from starting

it is a hair bit short, but it functions 100%. do you have a pic of the stock unit from a true soarer?

cool, i'll make sure to add this to my starter thread. thanks!

soarer93: i don't see any engine pics in your garage. I'm also curious about how long the stock soarer CC cable is. Can you measure it at all?

Ohhh yeah that's nice, your cc unit is probably closer to the engine than mine is. You also have a different setup like the brake fluid res on the opposite side etc

Does it have the same round style wire harness plug like in my pics above?
