Most people on here would say heat tank the head if you had a little cash still. But if not use a shop vac and various scraper tools and go to work on it the best you can, you can use some solvents to break it down to just remember to flush the engine a few times with just some cheap oil till YOU fell safe in saying its clean. I'd do 100-200miles on each flush. A member also told me on here you can use a little bit of AT in your oil and run the car with I believe a half Quart (Helps break deposits down). And you can also Seafoam.

With sludge in Motor you should always replace the oil pump.

i agree with SC51, if you can, best route is to have it hot tanked at a machine shop. otherwise i have heard of a few people seafoaming as well.

Diesel oil supposedly works VERY well. Occasionally even too well.

Use a TT supra oil pump. If you can find the oil pump on your engine, then I'm at a loss...

ok wait wait you are going to break the motor down to clean it out but can't find the oil pump. is that correct or is there no crank pulley or hb on it. best bet is to search for a fsm bro. idk if you can find one for a 1j but the 2j/supra fsm should get you most of the way till you need tq specs.

I've heard kerosene is supposed to work pretty great too. I've heard people say with thinning agents like that and Seafoam and all that to be careful so that a chunk of goop doesn't break loose and clog your oil intake in the oil pan.

Screw what everyone else is telling you and keep it simple. drop your motor in after the regular maintenance steps, run it for over an hour or more to help the rings reseal. check the oil, if you have no loose carbon specs, take the car for a drive and boost the crap out of it. It wont all clear up but whatever build up u have in the head will be broken up by boost pressure. Go home, drain your oil and enjoy life. I did that with my 2j with horrible buildup and she's still going strong.

Don't tell him to do that, that's not right and you know it.

I thought you spun a bearing and had to rebuild your engine? Or was that a different car or something?

the oil pump is behind the crank pulley sooo technically the big pulley at the bottem is what you are looking for
