Default Cheap rear end options?

I was wondering if any ford or chevy rear ends could be adapted to the SC300? Supra diffs are so pricey and welding isn't a good idea from what I hear so I'm looking for other options

Oh damn, I expected this thread to be about something else

.

But seriously, I see supra diffs every now and then for a decent price. I think it's just a matter of being patient.

Stick a 9" under there, it'll bolt right in.

I was wonder the same thing about this,
I seen a Supra that was for sale on autotrader.com a while back, that claimed to have a 9in ford rear, but I dont know how expensive, the difficulty in doing it, or how true the claim was either.

Ford rear end, unless you go full solid axle... which is stupid, will likely run you 3 or 4 thousand... when all is said and done.

Solid rear is not that expensive at all dude. I'm not an expert, but i've built two 4 link rear ends and it's not that hard. If you have access to welder and some scrap steel, it could be done for under a grand.
