Default 1j to 2j....how should I do this

So i have a 1j in my car now and about to buy a 2jzgte in the next couple of months...

From my research, i've found that the difference between the 2jz aristo and supra motors are: oil pans, hydrofan/waterpumps, wiring harness/ecu, and motor brackets and mounts..correct? Is there anything that I'm missing?

If I buy an aristo motor...could I use my 1j engine brackets and mounts on the aristo motor? I replaced my 1j's hydrofan with a 2j waterpump...can I swap that onto the aristo motor? I know i can use my 1j oilpan, but is there anything else?

Thanks for any and all help

i almost forgot...what should I do about a wiring harness/ecu? Should I get a jdm supra harness & ecu or a usdm harness ecu? Which is better?

I believe the mounts should be direct fit. As for wiring/ecu run the jdm ecu with the jdm harness. The US harness is hard to find and pricey, plus you would still have to do some repining.

No, I just dont want to dump alot of money into 1j aftermarket stuff because I feel like theres not that much re-sale value in any of it. I just got the 1j to hold me over till my 2j. And its easier to source 2j parts, stock or aftermarket, or at least for me it is.

Are you talking about the motor mounts...or the motor mount brackets?

Pans, mount brackets, water pump should all swap over. Your going to have to redo the electronic side of things. Best bet is to start with a SC harness, and gut the Aristo harness for everything you need to run the GTE electronics, wire that into the SC harness. That is how I do them. Can be time consuming.

...1.5j. Then you technically should have to change any of your wiring harness, just the bottom end.

Bottom end strength of the 2z with the high revving 1j head = super win.

The high revving aspect of a motor is in the block specifically the stroke.

The 1JZ has a shorter stroke than the 2JZ giving it the ability to rev higher.

A 1JZ head has worse flow than a 2JZ head because it was designed for less displacement.

2JZ > 1.5JZ

yea but i dont want to spend money into 1jz electronics or parts...would rather just go 2jz and do it right.
