prepare to be flamed, but everyone will tell you to use the search bar. and also if you're mechanically inclined in any way, a 1j swap is one of the easier out there and the only real hassle is wiring. just my .02 on what i've seen

These questions are still being asked on this site? JK
All kidding aside, you can do the swap yourself if you have some basic tools, jackstands, cherry picker, and some patient. The wiring is doable and if you know a little bit about mechanical stuff, you can do it, especially if you are keeping the stock ecu, injectors, and so on. No swapping and going single, then a tune, custom exhaust, dp, and so on. The average cost for the swap here in Bama is around 5-7K and that is them buying the motor and tranny. Be aware if you buy a motor, make sure they send you a video of the compression test of that particualr motor. Just my .02. GL on your decison, and if you need help we are here. Like Doomlight said, check out our thread and should help you somewhat.

All kidding aside, you can send your harness of to Dr. Tweak and he will charge you about 900 and then ship it back to you. This will come back like new, including new connectors, and all the special modding will be done for you. The 300 is alot easier than the 400, but installing the pedals and and so on is quite simple. On this investment buy a very good wideband, spend the money when the money needs to be spent. I would also check all the seals, gaskets, belts, and so on before installing them, but the price will continue to climb. I budgeted around 7K for my build in my 400, and it cost me now over 12K after the final tuning bill and so on.

I'm in the same process so far with swapping my '93 Auto SC300 to Manual & 1JZGTE. So far for just the motor & tranny was $2500, granted everything is directly from a Soarer so it's a bit more expensive (but well worth it IMO) it should be pretty straight forward. Right now I'm about $3,350 into it and that's just with buying an ACT 6 Puck & used HKS intercooler. I still gotta buy little tid bits like BOV, Wideband, boost gauge, and Supra TT Denso Fuel Pump, plus the clucth pedal assembly from Driftmotion for $500. I'm doing everything myself, so in total I'm going to be close to 5Kish. With a shop to do it, I was quoted $7K.
