Default Obx twin turbo kit

Has anyone tried it out? Any dyno numbers? What's the response like? I have a single gt35 on 1jz and honestly I'm not impressed. So i want to scratch the single idea and do something different for a change.

What are you not impressed with? You should be making some good power.

If it's a chinabay gt35 then it most likely leaves something to be desired, I have seen 35r powered cars in the single digets.

At the dyno I made 349hp & 327tq @ 11psi(something around there). What I'm not impressed with is the spool. I turned up the boost to 18lbs but still felt laggy. Don't get me wrong the car pulls really hard when in boost, but I assume doing a twin setup will give me a better response. I have searched but have yet to see dyno sheets from an upgraded twin turbo.

So like 9rwhp? Sorry, couldn't resist.

OP, as already mentioned, run far away from the obx twins.

Twin turbo in parallel is not going to give you better spool, may actually be laggier than a comparable single in flow.

What A/R are you running on the hot side?
You want spool? Go with a smaller A/R.
You want good top end? Go with a larger A/R.
Double edged sword, you gain at one end but lose in the other.

Then again, nothing two-step and brake-boosting can't fix.

Thank you for that answer. I will have to look into rebuilding a 2jz bottom end and hope to see better spool results. My a/r is .63

at what RPM do you hit full boost in 4th gear?

a .63 t4 should be a good match for the 2.5

you coudl always downgrade to a t3/t4 turbo, but you'd have to get a new manifold.

I'm running a t3 currently and according to the graph I hit full boost just above 4k. But I also have another sc with the stock twins and that car in my opinion is better for street. I heard of doing mods or even going to usdm twins, but nothing concrete on spool. I would love to see dyno graphs on cars with modded 1jz turbos or even usdm turbos.
