Yeah, but couldnt just the **** and shifter stick be taken out..? I would think the fact that the trannys are diff. and that one is gated is irrelevant because its just the stick and **** we are changing...no?

Under the shift stick, there is about a half-inch thick metal rod. The '98+ had a shorter rod that is about half the thickness and half the height. You'd have to replace the entire rod, as well as the sleeve that covers the shifter. When you figure it all out, let me know!

are u trying to replace the part where u grip?
in the 98's with the gated shifter, the short shaft has a wooden and leather **** that is screw-on, so if u want that thing u can take it off.

Yeah...I hope I didnt confuse. I dont give a **** about the gated shifter, I just want the damn wood and leather ****.
