Ok so I ordered the oem Toyota ones from Toyo lex today and will most likely go with the above mentioned tq damper although it is for a supra but I will just fab something up.

Polyuithane mounts will give you a stiffer ride, but this is to reduce horsepower drivetrain loss. Although I'm not sure exactly how much (in terms of percentage, as drivetrain loss is roughly 30%).
I'm in the process of ordering new tranny & engine mounts myself, and am debating between the two. Although I would like to reduce drivetrain horespower loss, I dont want to sacrifice the comfort of the ride. After all, the only reason I'm getting new mounts is to improve the ride.
Has anyone had experience with both? How much harsher is the ride with the poly mounts? Any noticeable "butt-dyno" performance gains? I'd REALLY like some input to help my decision..

Mount type will not effect drivetrain losses. If you want a cushy ride, go with the rubbers.

Just going from worn out stock rubber to Supra metal encased I noticed a difference in vibration. Nothing I can't live with, but noticeable.

I have the Megan mounts on my SC400 and I like them except that I broke the stud on the passenger side mount and I tried to get into contact with Megan to get a replacement and they never gave me an answer.

I didn't really want them to give me a free one or anything I was just hoping I could purchase the one mount.

A little more vibration but not horrible. Definately stiffer than stock but probably not needed unless you are making some power.

If I remeber right the Megans did not come with the extra brackets that are on top of the SC400 mounts but I was able to take them off my stock mounts and put them on the Megans without much issue.

DITTO.

I have the meagan's also. I think they are great. I def can tell a differance, in the stiffness. Its not crazy though. They did make my motor sit about .5" higher cause my strut tower bar in the front was touching after install. So I just tweeked it a little. I dont think ill be replacing mounts again. Worth the money. I got a smokin deal from a vendor here on them. But yall can keep arguing for all I care LOL.

Exclamation

This is just my experience...

1. the engine mounts work perfect...!!!

2. i'm sure the tranny mounts would be golden (after comparing them to some new oem mounts) *the oem are way softer*

3. the Tranny mounts claim to be for the manual transmission but after examining it with my auto, w58, and r-154 trannys (they are false advertising the mounts they will only fit the auto transmission)
so if your still running a auto tranny more power to you...

4. last but not least if your going to buy MEGAN products buy it straight from megan becasue if there is anything wrong with the product like it doesn't fit!!! Megan wont be able to do anything for you since you didn't purchase it from them directly so they aren't able to give you a refund,or a discount on the part just to make things right... when the ebay user (westcoastjdm) goes ghost on you which is understandable!!!

so if anyone needs a auto automatic transmission mount i have a perfect one thats just catching dust

Does anyone have more recent info on this? I can't find much about the Megan Racing MRS-TY-1441 tranny mount which is supposedly for manuals. SupraStore also carries it and lists it as 5MT. I'm thinking they would know their stuff, so maybe Megan Racing updated the product in recent years.
