Default 1JZ swap-trans plug question

When I pulled my trans out from the GE motor to transfer to the 1JZ, there was only one plug that mated up. What are the other 3 plugs for? Do I need to connect them? How would I connect them(they dont plug in)?

Where is the speed sensor and what does it look like?

the two plugs on the tailshaft are speed sensors 1&2.... #1 is the one closest towards the back of the car. #1 may be required

the big plug with the most pins is the park/neutral safety switch & gear selector. this one you have to plug in

then there should be a plug along the drivers side of the transmission near the rear of the transmission, the toyota manual calls it the "solenoid wire" im not sure exactly what its function is.

also the 1jz transmission has a "lock-up solenoid" on the driver side of the transmission near the front of the transmission. Your GE trans does not have this solenoid so you will have an unused connector on your harness

The 1JZ harness doesnt plug into any of these on my W58, except 1 plug? Would the car still run without these plugged in?

only one plug will work with the W58 trans, the speed sensor plug. The rest are only for the old Auto trans and can be tied up out of the way. You will have to splice in a connector to your reverse plug (a 2 pin plug hanging off the W58). Use this write up as a reference scroll down bout halfway and you'll see the write up on the plug.

how do you know what wires need to be connected if all of the auto transmission plugs have been cut off?
