Nah not yet, I woke up late and then ended up having to go to a wedding. If I don't get it tonight it will be first thing in the morning. I also have to take this drive belt back cause autozone gave me the wrong one. Hah.

Well I changed the fuel filter and am still having the same problem. Now I have no idea what it could be. I still get the loud squealing. Its almost as if the starter keeps running even when I let the key go back to the "ON" position.

Alright so I solved the squealing problem. I forgot to attach re-set a ground after disconnecting it. But I still have the crappy starting problem. I will crank it, it will stay alive, but only if I keep on the gas and it sounds like I have huge cams. I now have white smoke coming from the exhaust when I crank it. Any idea what to try next?

I think the white smoke was just from it sitting without being cranked for a week. But the coolant looks fine. I'll rent a compression tester and get that tested tonight.

It is very simple(the way it operates, not calculates) the ECU gets info from the sensors and calibrates itself accordingly adjust's IAC, fuel air mixture and so forth... if part of the circuit in the ecu is bad (capacitor issues) and the signal from the sensor is going thru there to the memory. It will miss calculate and send wrong signals. I think I got this part...

This might be something to look at eventually, but if you did the simple test of turning the key to on and got your check engine light like you should, than I think yo can move on. Did you do a compression test yet. It's good that your coolant is normal. That means head gasket is ok and I agree. The white smoke was probably from sitting.
Now you say it will start but yo have to keep the peddle floored to keep it running. it almost sounds like a vacuum leak. Check and double check all of the hoses. Your power steering valve has a vacuum line that goes right to the front of the plenum. This one was extremely dry and it broke on me.
Was the calibration on your TPS good when you checked. Did it need any adjustment?
