Oh boy ha ha......well let me get mine in...

1JZ best bang for buck initial setup for easy 300 hp...but twins will die and while they could be replaced with steel wheel option you're in NA-T territory now. I went 1j bpu route twins died then went APU then sold it all and went 2jzgte.

2JZGTE nuff said.

NA-T I've never done it but if had to do all over again would have went this route and done it right with FFIM, AEM, 6spd etc...

I have spent so much money on my 1j swap and Still havent gotten to drive it, actuallly i bought two motors and never have even heard what a 1j sounds like
I think 1.5jz would be too sick, from people that have had the 1.5 no bad remarks have ever come back bad (if dont right.)

2jz<1.5jz<1jz<na-t<<<vvti

2jzgte gets my vote.

That being said, if I were to do it all over again I may just do NA-T for simplicities sake. However I purchased the car with a 1jz already installed (yay for me...) 2 years later I have a pretty well built 1.5jz after the bottom end on the 1j gave out. The 1jz is fine and dandy and a world of difference from stock but the twins get old quick and I wasnt super happy with how slow the single spooled on it.

If I could do it all over again... NA-T... for street power... 2JZGTE for big whp.

Im only 2JZGTE cuz stock twins dont look like turbos when my hood gets poped. Damn Cali.

Head flow:

Displacement- 3.0 > 2.5

Turbos- Support higher boost reliably. 18psi on USDM twins, 15PSI on JDM, 13-14 PSI on 1j. Note.... RELIABLY

Electronics- GTE electronics are far superior to GE. GE "conversions" are a cluster

FFIM- GE does not have it

Easiest to find parts? 2jz-gte

Cleanest install? GTEs

Highest resale? 2jz-gte

2jz-gte is the only motor that doesn't lack in any category vs the other motors. Find me one thing that a 1jz or 2jz-nat does better. And before you say "head flow/rev limit" see point number one and my 2jz-GTE revs to 7800 with only a reflashed ECU

price.. you make good points but not everyone is worried about looks of the engine for one, if they are they can pick up a ffim for the ge. two, yes the dist may get in the way for some but can be worked around and is easier to work with vs cop. third, na-t electronics are the same.(you can buy a ge aem ems just like you can buy a tt ems) fourth na-t will produce a better more enjoyable amount of hp/tq vs a stock tt

if you plan to make huge whp..you will have to purchase the same components for either ge or tt..so why buy an entire engine for that?..
i think the only place the 2jzgte does best is around 400whp...for the simple fact that you dont have to change anything to make that amount..but any less then that or more you will have to do the same thing to the ge as you will the tt, at least if you want to achieve that amount of power reliably.
