60 miles to the tank...
hey, i dont know where to turn guys... i bought a lexus sc300 back in october and its been perfectly fine, other than a shakey engine, just recently has my car been spewing white smoke through the exhaust and shaking alot more, so i take it to the repair shop to see if it could be the spark plugs, injectors, or just the oil change, so i had them put in new ones... ive been getting 60, yes 60 miles to the tank, i cant for the like of me tell what the problem is. all i can tell you is this car rinks of gasoline.

thankfully nothing was wrong with the oil, one thing i think i should mention, when i first got my car, the speedometer was toping at 20, and the rpms were working fine, after a while the speedometer stayed at 0. once white smoke started spewing from the exhuast, i noticed the rpms started to stay at 0, could this be that it's the computer?

where in fl are you navii...i have a spare ecu that everything was perfectly fine except a small issue with over drive engaging..usually had to speed up and let off the gas..at least thats what i was told when i bought my car and i replaced the ecu within a week ..i personally didnt have any problems with it but..the car ran fine...if you're close to tampa i could definitely let you try it to see if the ecu is your problem.

hopefully it's your ecu like you suspect. I know from past history, white smoke in the exhaust also can be coolant getting in your chambers. That would definately be a BAD thing. Hopefully it's not that.

simple answer, yes, they can easily impact a car this much.
one of the known issues with the ecu going bad is making the car run very rich..you problem seems worse then what ive read on the forums before but can still be the culprit of a very bad ecu.
anyway good luck and report what the mechanic tells you and if you find out what it is etc.
