Default 2jz-ge turbo header wont fit big turbo fix

apparently ebay and numerous other sights have these turbo manifolds that fit the ge motors, and they do unless you want to put a decent size turbo on them, they also claim to be stainless which is partially true, the tubing is stainless but the brackets on them are just mild steel painted silver for the pictures. which is really no big deal just kinda anoying that they wouldnt just tell you that like there hiding it. the manifold is well under half price compaired to alot of headers for this motor. i believe megan racing sells them i got mine on ebay, i know i know.... but it was cheap!!, from Toys_Auto. if you have a smaller turbo it should work just fine and seriously 299 bux for a stainless manifold, 3" downpipe, 4"intake pipe, and wastegate dump tube was to hard to resist. anyways just wanted to put up the pics of my fix (i used stainless on 100% of this brkt!!) i made a quick jig at work so if anyone is in a jam and needs one made ill hang onto that. i would reccomend just using mild steel for it though. making the brackets ruined a good endmill i ran the thing on the slowest speed and it still chewed up the end mill i dont come on here often it so it may be a while before i read any posts on this.

what was the reason for this? to clear the strut tower or clear the distributor?
I hope you have a front facing intake manifold, it may be a tight squeeze with the overhead manifold.

ali. lol ya man there would be noooo way this would fit with the old manifold there. im actually tryin to get some funds together to get a couple 1" alum intake flanges made up to build some ACTUAL ge intake manifolds. there gonna be a pain to jig up but if some people wanna go in on some cnc parts w/ me or plain old sighn up to buy one once i finish it wont feel like im doin all that work just for one intake for myself . im tired of lookin around for stuff and only finding crap though!! lol thank you for the look out though!!

imDementeD, if i assume ffim means front facing intake manifold lol then the answer is no i dont have one but this bracket is not made with the over the engine intake in mind im almost positive that it will not fit unless perhaps you put the airfilter right over the downpipe. i wanna make an affordable "FFIM" for the ge head as i said b4. but we will see how this goes. if i get some time ill dig out the stock sidways intake and see if it fits if you would like

If you had bought the 4runner dist cap would you have been been able to clear the intake pipe from the dist cap?

What size turbo can you go to with the new spacer? At what size do you absolutely need the spacer?

4runner cap will get you pretty close to clearing most turbos with a 4" pipe. depends on the manifold really, the ebay ones are pointed more towards the distributor than the good after market ones.
