Default 2JZ-GE VVti cam question???

Im going na-t and would like to change my cams for larger ones also, is this possible with my motor? 2000 SC300. I know that I can only change the one cam gear, so does that mean that I can only change that one cam as well? My preferred cam choice would be HKS 264's
any help is much appreciated

Titan Motorsports Sells the VVTi cams, the exhaust side is the same camshaft as the TT the only difference is the intake side it's longer so....
Call Titan they will hook you up.

When i used the VVti head on my SC i used some TT cams i had the Int side machined to fit the head. Then i deleted the VVTi because i had no way of controllong it....

What is all involved in deleting the VVti (costs an procedures)? What are the Pros and Cons of doing this?
Thank You

What ECU are you using to tune?
Are you using a Piggy back or you will be on EMS?

If your ECU can control the VVti i wouldn't delete it my friend, The VVTi will give you a nice powerband with the turbo, i wouldn't delete it unless i run out of options.

let me know

I am going with either the Greddy e-Manage Ultimate or MAP ECU, I cant do EMS because then my obdII port wont work for emissions.

Will TT valve covers fit on the VVti? I know they fit on the non-VVti, but I dont know if they will fit on mine. I am planning on using a FFIM so thats y I am asking.
Thank you for all the help so far

Yeah i don't mess with piggy backs , But the AEM FIC would probably be your best bet.
You can use an EMS as a Piggyback but i don't wanna get into that lol....

The TT Valve cover will not fit over the VVTi engine, Yes they fit on the non VVTi because it's doesn't have the VVTi solenoid on the intake side.
You need the GTE VVTi Valve covers but they hard to find my friend.

i thought you could go ffim on the vvti. you just need to use a DBW throttle body, so either the stock one or upgrade to a newer one from an LS w/DBW throttle body which is larger and shorter.

Ali haha you got me this time, Yes you can do FFIM on the VVTi because SRT sells the FFIM for the VVTi but there are not on stock ECU, so they may remove the DBW system but am not sure.

What is "DBW" and what year LS's were these TB's on?

Will all FFIM's for GE heads fit the same, weather it is a VVti or not, or is there a difference in how the 2 intake manifolds line up? What year LS TB's have DBW, is it the same TB that is in the SC430?
Thank You

the heads have the same pattern on the vvti and non-vvti 2jz-ge.
Im not sure the year the LS switched to drive by wire but its definately after odb2.
its really easy to tell if there is place for a throttle cable its old style.
if it has a black box looking thing with a connector where the throttle cable normally goes its electric and DBW.
here is some quick info i found, they are saying 98 up. so ls430 , tundra, etc..

All the 98+ should be DBW, because it's only on the VVTi models which started in 98 in the US.

if my current TB is DBW, why is there a wheel and throttle cable on my stock TB and not one on the LS TB? If the wheel on 2j VVti is a throttle cable, then what is it and what is it for?
