Default Anyone rebuild their W58?

I was wondering where you guys source the various thickness snap rings that determine axial play of the gear assemblies? They are mentioned in the manual, but not in the rebuild kits. I wonder if they are Toyota dealer specific parts and what kind of availability there is for them?

Hmmmm, will do. Maybe I won't even need different ones, but it rarely works out that easily for me

Thanks

Well, since I swapped the auto out for the W58, it has had a crunch from 1-2 and 2-3 that annoyed me. I was living with it up until lest weekend when I suddenly lost speedo. I popped the speed sensor out to find that the drive gear has popped loose and slid down the output shaft.

Since I have to open it up to fix that, I figured I would refresh it while I'm in there and try to smooth out the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. I am going to tear it down this weekend to see what is out of spec and go from there.

As far as the rest of the car, its doing ok for a soon-to-be 19 year old car. The darn heater valve started leaking, and I am contemplating just pulling it out of the loop for good and letting the coolant circulate continuously.

Otherwise, its running pretty well, and I have a BCC to install once I get a wideband to go with it.
