Distributor Delete Pics w/ 7m-gte CPS / vvti Coilpacks

Yeah I am on the gte ecu pretty much since I wrote the tt ecu mod thread.
there is probably a way to do it with the ds62 ignitor providing the igf, that could work if wired right.
how are those 1zz coils working out spoolxexo?
If I had to switch from vvti coils it would probably be for a set of those.

I haven't run the tt ecu mod with the 7m cps yet. I have been hearing from some people that it might actually work, so I guess mine must have been bad cause it didn't work for me.
for the tach, when you switch to the 3 channel or 6 channel ignitor, you have to do the mod to your cluster to get the rpm's to show. search for cluster mod, it is the same one for gte swaps, you just bypass a resistor.

There is an tach output on the gte/ds62/dh61 ignitors no need to run new wires from the ecu despite however a gte is set up, what you do on a GE harness is you just connect the old ignitors tach wire (soild black wire on SC and already runs to cluster) to the new ignitor's pin for the tach (even if the new ignitor plug didn't have a wire there originally all of them have a blank spot to slide in your original tach wire/pin for a tach output, no rewiring required at all just slide that wire into the right spot), and then do the mod on the cluster and it will work. thats how I do it and it works perfect.

^^^That's totally correct!! both gte and ge have the tach wire coming from the ignitor to the cluster.
You just have to jump the resistor on the back of the cluster.
I am running the Lq9 coils and still had to just my cluster to work.

Well as long as you have the 3 channel ignitor on there it's just the 1 wire you gotta hook up as described above, and do the cluster mod. Maybe the cluster board went bad or something is loose if it was working before. Maybe pull the cluster again and double check everything is seated right including the tach board.
