Its not a bad thing to put a 1j head on a 2j block. Using 1j cams there would have been no issues it seems. No one machines the head for the cam, the cam should have been turned down. Def the machine shops fault and good thing it was caught or would keep having problems.
With the seriousness of the build though I would have probably gone with a 2jz head by now.

Hahaha Yes it is a tight fit !

But will get it done! We pulled the engine back out and pulled the head off and

the block and head are both done , internals are done bent carillo rods and the pistions is also done.

So we got 10 CP pistions 8.5.1 with 0 miles on them 10 Carillo rods.

New block is going to the machine shop on Monday.. i will post some progress and the pics of the block and head

Ali,

Na-t, 10.5.1 CR,CP pistons, Carillo HD rods, all the bells and whistle , Custums build intake maifold, and exhaust manifold from Freed Engineering and distributor hole will be shut close.
