sounds like 5-7k rpm or is it actually idling that high? get the tach working first to get it going. Should be resistor R2 on the back of the cluster if i remeber correctly.

Either a vacuum leak or a bad idle air control, went through 3 used ones till i found a brand new one.

a large vacuum leak could do this.

also, check the throttle cable. it could just be pulling the throttle plate open...

I would unhook the throttle cable and see if that is it. Did you get a new one, when you did the swap?

Which throttle cable did you use for the swap?

Who did the harness work?
