Default 1992 Sc300 F/IC problem with MAF

I have looked all over and have not found any good info on the older Karmen Vortex afm's. On the F/IC you have a MAF input for the volage clamp function (limits the voltage into the pcm for the maf), it has two options for the imput: maf voltage, maf percent. With the KV afm it uses a photo transistor to convert vorticies through a LED and a mirror making a voltage signal. The signal is sent to the pcm as a 0-5v frequency. I am having problems with the F/IC output signal to the pcm- it does not make the correct freq.

The setup is ALL stock. I wanted to try the fic on a un-modified car first before I went with the na-t setup. I have checked & re-checked wiring as well as it runs perfect with the bypass conected in. Any help would be appreciated.

1992 Sc300 2jzge (1 wire 02's) M/T. I bought the f/ic new with the new software.

Wow! Lots of looks and nothing.

I was able to find out from aem that the f/ic6 DOES NOT WORK FOR KV! The f/ic8 has the function for the KV type afm's. Bummer. The f/ic6 is a great setup for the later 2js or all the 1js. It will work with any jz engine that DOES NOT use the KV afm. That would include all the older 2jzge's (non-vvti).

****DO NOT GET THE F/IC "6" FOR A OLDER KV TYPE AFM 2JZ-GE!!**** YOU WANT THE F/IC "8".
Hope the info saves you from having a spare f/ic like me.
It will work for all the 2jzgte/1jzgte Japan market aristo/soarer/chaser...... they use a map sensor as well as hall effect cam/crank.
