Flywheel & clutch setup for R154/2JZGE
Hey guys,
I am still compiling parts for my R154 swap and I'm looking at this lightened flywheel and clutch kit at Driftmotion.
What do you think of this lightened flyhweel together with this stage 1 clutch kit ?
I believe this is sufficient enough for a daily driver with stock 2JZGE. Not planning to add performance parts for the engine to gain horsepower, just bone stock 225HP.
I think that clutch kit is the "best bang for the buck" in conjunction to my stock motor.
What about the flywheel? Any downside of having a lightened one instead of an OE flywheel?

I found 2 R154s here locally and they were cheap. I got one for $350 from a local guy and $180 with half driveshaft at a local junkyard ( It has an 7MGTE motor in it too). So I guess why go W58?
I don't think it's an overkill, I've heard a lot of good advantages about R154 so I decided to get it and leaving no option for W58. I am also planning for a 2JZGTE maybe a year after the R154 install, plus I could use the other R154 as a spare.

I am not sure how it feels on Na car but the R154 with 3.92 rear end if fun drive on boosted SC that's what i had on my SC best of both worlds.
The are not too short or too long it's right in between.

Yes usually people use the TT auto 3.76 , GS400 3.26 or the 6 speed 3.16.
The MK3 diff will not work on the Sc nor the MK4, but the MK4 , SCXXX, LSXXX and GSXXX are all interchangeable you just swap the whole pumpkin.
The 3.16 was kind too long for me and i didn't want buy just because it had LSD in it!!!
Since you gonna be boosted later down the road i think you should be fine with the stock rear end.
