PCV Valve Hose
Looking for some feedback...I changed the PCV valve as it is a quick/cheap thing to do...when I took the old one off, the grommet broke (it was obviously old and hardened - the PCV valve didn't look exactly fresh either, so I guess it was a good thing to do!) -- luckily I was able to get it out.
Anyways, when I installed the new grommet and PCV valve, the hose connecting to the top of the PCV was very hard and the stock metal wire clip did not have enough pressure to seal it, so I put a screw tightening clamp on it to stop the vacuum leak.
My question is, should the hose be pliable and rubbery, or is it supposed to be hard like that? All the other hoses around it were pliable but this one...
Thanks in advance...

it is like plastic, not rubber. I have heard that some hoses are designed this way (ones with angles, to keep them from flexing under vacuum if they are curved) but I wasn't sure if this one was. thanks for the info
