Default Is this plug needed?

I had someone do my harness and the plug that goes here doesnt exist on my harness. I was just wondering if the is needed. When i turn on my heater it basically blows air from the outside whatever the temp. it is outside. So im wondering if this is whats causing it. This isnt a pic of my car but you get the point.

that is your water valve so you are dead on with the heater problem being related. if you dig into the harness the other end has to be there. If you go back to your old harness off your old engine you can get the part number off that, go to a junk yard and pick one off. A lot of the connectors are the same with other toyotas

Yea it allows for water to flow into the heater core. Without the plug the valve wont open and water won't flow, no heat.

If you need heat, you can bypass that heater valve assembly. Water will circulate constantly, but as long as your blend door works, you will still have both heat and ac.

Are the wire colors R-L and B-Y? If so, I think I found the wiring info for it.

You need to connect the B-Y wire to pin 7 on II1, which is the 12 pin connector in the kick panel IIRC. Then connect the R-L wire to II1 pin 2.

Here is a pic of II1:

Oh, check II1 pin 2 for key on power first. If it doesn't have it, then you need to run a wire from there to pin 2 on IJ1 to get power. At any rate, IJ1 pin 2, II1 pin2, and the R-L from the VSV need to all be connected and have 12v key on power.

IJ1 is this plug:

Did this also cause your climate control not to turn on?
