Default Difference between Soarer W58 and SC300 W58?

My stock W58 that came with my 95 SC300 is on it's last legs and I need a replacement. I came across two trannys both are said to be W58 but the pic looks different around the shifter area. Can anyone help explain what why there is that difference, are they really both W58. Can either be used for my 95 SC300?

Here is a pic for the SC300 W58 from RGW LLC

Here is a pic of the Soarer W58

Can anyone shed some light on the differences? Thanks.

The Soarer also use the W58, I believe they are both W58 but can they be used interchangeably?

They are both W58's. One is from 92-94 and one is 95-97. The first photo is of the latter. You want that one.

Oh and search, there is plenty of info on this topic.

Thanks for the info BartleDoo and everyone else. It really help me to decide which one to select. Just a bit of info I found on supraforums. The later ones has steel sandwiches and the earlier ones are alloy. It's stronger I presume.

ALL SC/MK4 have steel sandwich plate. You can use EITHER of those transmissions above. The top one is the better choice though, but either is OK.
