Default SC300 Window Issues

Good Morning,

As stated in my previous thread, i have picked up a project SC300. One of the first things i have to do is figure out an issue with the Windows. It appears that the vehicle has sat with the windows down for quite some time. The Motors I can hear but the windows will not roll up.

I can grab the glass and pull them up manually but they wont stay, etc. Does anyone know where i can get a Diagram of the Window setup in the doors? I am assuming something fell off track.

Is this a known issue? Anybody out there that has battled this issue before, any advice would be helpful.

Thanks,

Dane

Your window regulators are trashed.....there's a few threads on here with DIY type band-aid fix's but new units from the dealer are only around $150 each.

Window regulators have rubber in them which deteriorates ,if you take it appart you will see that the rubber is crumbled to pieces. What i did was take the top cap flipped it over and welded it together to the bottom cap, so instead of it holding with rubber, its welded together(or epoxy it)

You will know what i'm talking about when you see the insides of the regulator.
