FIXED: No check engine light for 95 sc300's w/1jz swap
The Problem:
You just swapped a 1JZ into a 1995 sc300 and the check engine is nowhere to be found. Fortunantly there is a fix! The problem is the pin out on the 1JZ engine harness doesnt quite match up to the body harness on the 1995 sc300. So in order to fix the problem we must swap some pins around between connectors.
there's one minor issue with this I've noticed. The pin from the orange plug is slightly smaller than the pins in the white plug. with enough movement the check engine will flash on and off (but only if it has a reason to be lit up)
bahhhh, beat me to it lol. The only problem i find is that i kept getting a code for the fuel circuit (due to 12V fuel mod i assume) so it stays on all the time. Does yours stay on? I was going to wire up a seperate bulb with a switch to check for codes every once in a while. As for the problem with the pin size not matching, i would clip the end off the green wire you removed and wire it in to the end of the blue/yellow stripe wire. Nice write up though!
I jus noticed that my check engine light doesnt come on aswell...so i will be doin this mod on the weekend...but was this for 95+ SC's cuz i have a 94 SC300 with a 95 Toyota Soarer 1JZGTE???

The 95 is the ONLY year i can guarantee this will work. My guess is that this will work for other years. If you have the harness from your GE motor you can find the blue wire w/yellow stripe and match it to that pin
