Free spinning/whistling sound when at slow speed?
So for the past year or so I have had a really annoying noise coming from god knows where on my SC300. I'm going to do my best to describe the noise and exactly when it happens.
The noise can only be heard at 10-18 mph and first gear...it is very audible both inside and outside the car. Once the car shifts out of first and is around 25mph the sound goes away. When I'm coming to a stop (decelerating) no matter what the speed is the annoying sound is not there. Then when I start to accelerate from a stop or a slow speed it comes back. The only way I can describe the sound is a whistle or something spinning freely before it finally catches.
I'm thinking it might be the torque converter, wheel bearing (not so sure) or possibly the support bearing......leaning more toward the support bearing. The reason why I say this is because if the car is in park and I rev the engine there is no sound, it only happens when the car is moving.
I'm sure its not the brakes seeing how I just replaced all the calipers, pads, hose and rotors.
What are your thoughts?
