Smoke or steam through ac vents & emerg flashers...
Hey all,
1993 SC400 with 107,000 miles. Wife just called and while on the highway, smoke started coming out from the AC vents and her emergency flashers automatically come on.
Thinking it may be the heater core I told her to just turn off the ac and drive on home. Problem is she can't get the flashers to shut off.
Is this normal? Do I have to reset the ECM? Also, how hard is it to replace the core?
Thanks for the help,
LMA

Update!!!
Bless her heart, my wife isn't the shrpest knife in the drawer when it comes to cars but she's only been driving this one for a couple of minths .
She made it home and after calming her down, she said she accidently hit the flashers when trying to turn off the AC. Flasher issue solved.
However, she had stopped at a friends and let the car sit idling for about five minutes. After getting back on the highway and driving about 5 miles she said what looked like smoke began coming out of, she thinks, only the two center vents. It wasn't a lot but enough to see.
I've been reading the searches and it doesn't seem like the HC's go out very often. Is there by chance a hose or maybe a sensor that might be leaking into the vent system? Just fishing right now.
Thank you for all the help!
