Exclamation Sludge Help!

So my low oil light kept flashing on an off, and when I would check the oil on the car cold, the dipstick was clean as a whistle. However, when I checked it at Idle the dipstick read full or nearly full. There is no oil leak, so I took my car to my mechanic. My mechanic told me I had a terrible sludge problem and that it failed all the tests they do to see if the engine is having sludge issues. He also said it was so bad it had made it passed the O-rings? I can name engine codes off the top of my head, but when it comes to mechanical prowess i'm a total nube. He said I would probably need a new engine..does anyone else want to give an opinion either agreeing or disagreeing? Any help would be great thanks!

Lol turns out my mom scared the crap out of me, the mechanic said it was a possibility. He sent a scope through the engine and said there is absolutely no sign of sludge. He took a second look at it and replaced the fuel sender unit. This seems to have fixed the problem, as the light has not come back on. Thanks for the help guys.

AHHHHH!!!! the ol "mom says" problem....exact reason why i never let my mother touch my car. Last time she did she had to call a mechanic because she couldn't get the car started. $100 later, turned out she didn't put in the clutch pedal, thinking it was a "no clutch start" cars....yea right

glad things turned out ok
