Default no ignition problem

i was driving my sc300 back home a few days ago when i lost all power and key would turn freeley in the ignition, in other words, the ignition did nothing when i tried to turn it over, the key would not even turn back, i hotwired my car and got home, took ignition assembly apart and back piece that actually turns ignition on, the tab that was holding it on broke, so i need the backpeace to the ignition swich, with a screwdriver i was able to turn the ignition on, and turn the engine over by pressing down on the relay, now i am getting no spark to the engine at all even though i got my ignition on, im thinking when i hotwired it i might have burned up the coil? any input appreciated
