I was driving home in my SC, which is a 1jz swapped car, and the car just died, it made a depressurizing noise and just turned off. I tried to start it, and it just cranked, then 3 minutes later after getting out and checking the engine, and seeing nothing wrong, I tried to crank it and it just turned over like normal. Also, when I started it to warm it up before this, it was idling at like 2k rpm, so I turned it off, and restarted it and it was perfectly normal. It also ran fine when I was driving it.

Any Ideas? I'm changing my valve cover gasket today, but I doubt a leaky valve cover gasket would cause this. I'm going to guess it's a dieing 1jz ecu...

Would that cause the car to turn all the way off?

did all the electronic stuff cut off too or just the engine?

Just the engine, I drove it for about an hour today and nothing happened, it was fine, but now the temperature gauge isnt working? The car ran great today, barely smoked, I retightened all of the bolts around the valve cover gasket, I think that cleared up the issue with alot of the smoke. Anyone know why my temp gauge is out?
