BAD ECU WAS THE VERDICT and new pic


motor: 1UFZE v8
year: 92


car runs great and sounds even better.. new tires to come

okay i just got this sc400 on feb 23 and its not running. motor turns, starter is fine..

also, prev. owner said the car would drive fine till it warmed up then cut off...

no spark//i changed the coil pack, still nothing
fuel to the rails
fuel pump works

plugs are wett


i have mainly worked wit hondas and this is very new to me..

all help is appreciated guys

front lip was fixed also!

just some for now, help me out plzz its killing me not being able to drive it

You got this from IA? I know he did the fuel pump ecu bypass, so that rules that out, did you try the FPR that he said was a probable issue?

im breaking it down tomorrow to see if that is the fix (fpr)..

i have talked to a few techs and they seem to think otherwise.. possibly the inj arent firing, but then again the car has no cels or dtcs

and yes this be an ia car

haha the lip is slightly broken... im planning on putting it back on...

and i talked to the original owner of the car and he said hey doesnt think its a fuel problem... maybe a bad ecu

crank the motor...then pull the plugs.
are they wet?

if it's wet then you don't have spark...(assuming the gas is good).
if it's dry then you have an injector issue.

My mom's LS400 had the same problem. It was a bad ECU.

the ignitor might be bad, not giving off any spark. check that out.

Got it rebuilt for 100 but it didn't fix it...so we bought a used one on ebay for $250

hate to pick ur brain, but what did the car do exactly when the ecu, "went out" or, "was going," out?

Good Afternoon,
Our 91 SC 400 would only start when cold but wouldn't start after the 5 minute drive to work until the next day...it ended up being a fuel pump.
