Default 1UZ with tranny swap.. or 2JZ TURBO???

fellas here it is... i'm not trying to start a thread to see which is more beneficial b/c i'm sure there is one...just personal opinions

Originally while searching for my SC, i was planning on going 2JZ Turbo, the real decision was 2jz NA-T or 2jzgte swap...now after driving around with the mufflers off on the 1uz to allow people to hear this bad boy engine, i've grown attached to this engine (2 days of driving lol )

i'm gonna stop by mvp motorports or dynosaur here in tx to get some input from them as either shop will be doing the build

and if i do decide to keep the 1uz, i still would love to go turbo b/c i'm aiming for 500-600 whp, but it would prob cost a few more dimes, not pennies lol to boost the 1uz compared to the 2jz... let me know what you guys think

THANKS!

will do! if you do keep it, are you staying N/A?

I'm looking for the best cost effecient route, NOT CHEAP! lol I just know boosting the 1uz is going to be a bit more expensive than boosting the 2jz and i don't want to supercharge it bc if i wanted to go that route, i would've just bought a 03 cobra, which doesn't look nearly as sweet as the SC

I'd say tranny swap and boost the 1UZ.

I'd like to have a 2jzgte swap one day but a 5spd 1UZ AND boost? That is insane!

Assuming your 1UZ is healthy, why not!

everything feels smooth, 3rd day with the car, it was owned by an old man who loved to cruise in it with his wife so thankfully it was owned by someone like us pushing it to it's limits lol

i'm gonna go talk to mvp or dynosaur this weekend and see what's the best route in my price range... which i don't have right now lol i just don't want to have to spend more than 6-7 grand, which is why i was wondering if the 2jz would be better, bc from what i've seen, the 2jz responds to boost better concerning boost level and hp gain....

^^basically, it seems easier and more cost effecient to gain hp with the 2jz motor than the 1uz... b/c everything for the 1uz would have to be custom

its going to take more than 6 or 7, more like 20 grand to handle the 1uz boost and transmission needs
