Default Where can I get the hose for leaking power steering? Also alternater question.

If I understand correctly, the problem with the SCs is a leaking power steering hose and not the power steering assembly itself, right? Where can I get the hose?

Also, the Alternator; Anyone know of a dealer that distributes them? Does anyone know if the part is also used for Toyota because maybe it would be a good idea to get it from Toyota.

Essentially I need some help with getting an Alternator and repairing the leaking power steering or else it would not be worth replacing the alternator.

Thanks a lot.

EDIT: I think I heard about Carson Toyota distributing the alternator or is that just the 1JZ and 2JZ?

$430+ for just the hose from the stealership. Driftmotion makes a replacement steel braided hose for $69. I bought one and will be installing it tomorrow. I got tired of leaving stains everywhere I parked and gummin up the engine bay

I had my rebuilt by a machine shop in my area $40. total. They reused the metal pieces and installed new high pressue hoses and crimped on clamps, Works great.

drift motion has a nice braided power steering line that replaces the leaky stock one, and its pretty cheap too. i just replaced mine with theirs and it looks and feels great.

The dirftmotion one is only for the SC300, though, right?

I looked it up. I'd be willing to get it for the SC400 if it worked.

Should I buy the OEM hose used? Would that be worth it? It would just end up leaking again???

I replaced the power steering hose a few months after I got my SC. I purchased it used (mileage unknown) and it's been over a year and has been holding up since.. ** knock on wood.

remove your factory hose and take it to a specialty hose shop in your area. theyll build you a braided hose with your factory ends or find you new replacement ends. it should end up being around $50 or so
